Terms of Service
Last updated: March 12, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Debrief (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Debrief is a tool that helps you capture unstructured post-meeting thoughts and organizes them so your AI tools have the full picture. The Service processes your notes using artificial intelligence and makes your structured data available to AI tools you authorize via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
3. Account Registration
You must sign in with a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User Content
You retain all ownership rights to the meeting notes, thoughts, and other content you submit to the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit. You represent that you have the right to share any content you provide and that your content does not violate any third party's rights.
5. AI Processing and Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence providers to process and structure your User Content. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to your User Content being transmitted to and processed by these AI providers for the purpose of delivering the Service's functionality.
We select AI providers that maintain appropriate security and privacy standards. However, we are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers beyond our contractual agreements with them.
You control which external AI tools can access your structured data through MCP. You are responsible for managing your API keys and OAuth authorizations. Debrief is not liable for how third-party AI tools use data you authorize them to access.
6. Data Security
Your User Content is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption and in transit using TLS. Row-level security ensures that only you can access your data. While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code
- Share your account credentials or API keys with unauthorized parties
- Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse the Service in a way that degrades performance for others
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Debrief and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
AI-generated outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-processed content before relying on it.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEBRIEF SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
